I tried to finish a painting this week and got really frustrated it didn’t work out.
Really I wanted to be trying to do work like this again. I recently brought this home after it had been stored at my moms for many years.
So my husband said maybe I should blog this old painting as inspiration.
Here it is on my easel and you can see how raw that cardboard is!
I wasn’t exactly encouraged to do work like this back at school (but I did it anyway). Now I’m not sure I know how to get back to that and develop it. Hmmm.

I used my ordinary old 35mm camera (point and shoot with free focus) and ran the film through it twice to get double exposures. Except it loaded differently the second time so I also get overlapping frames.
These are the highights from that roll.
Taken with Halina Prestige 280s - my old compact free focus 35mm from around year 2000.

This is my old 35mm point and shoot compact focus free. It was my main camera around year 2000.
It has a “panorama” function which basically masks the top and bottom of the frame - not very high tech. It is battery operated with automatic wind on, a digital display of how many shots, auto flash and auto rewind of film on pressing a rewind button. It has an easy load mechanism.
Not a bad camera for snaps but you can’t turn the flash off if the camera think you need it in low light it will fire. and it’s quite noisy winding on and rewind is a prolonged loud whirr!
You can tell it has been not been kept in a case!
The button to the left of the viewfinder (that looks like a pacman) opens the lens cover. That hood around the lens folds flat when pressed down to the camera body.

This has to be one of my favourite photographs of Flyman. He looks like an actual handsome cat rather than the pudding of a furry lump like he so often poses as!

I used a close-up filter (+4) on my Nikon D40 for these photos and it adds so much to the depth of field.
