Barnard Castle with Vivitar (Photography)

Some more photographs of the castle at Barnard Castle, County Durham from my Vivitar Ultra Slim and Wide. August 2008. Ilford XP2.

I like the different textures.

Barnard Castle Exterior

A photo from inside the castle showing the exterior wall and road below. This one was taken by Paul as it required climbing up a wall and dangling arms out a window.

Here’s the window Paul dangled the camera out of …

That smear at the top of the frame is rain on the lens.

Finally, a demonstration of how wide the Vivitar’s lens is. Comparing it here to a photo taken with my digital SLR with a wide angle lens attached and at just about the widest it would go.

You can see how the wide angle lens attached to the SLR is bending the image as the wall bends round the frame. Our £5 plastic camera doesn’t get quite as much in the frame but it’s still pretty impressive for a cheap tiny plastic camera.

Really great images, Rachel. Some of my best pics have been made with a so-called disposable camera.
